New Day!

We had one of those nights last night. The kind where several kids wake up multiple times. One wet through his diaper and all over the bed, another time he needed a drink, one had a bad dream and on the way to tell us, ran into our closet door...you get the picture. But! Today is a new day! YAY!

It got off to a bit of a rough start...It had to do with Noah not liking the new jeans I got him (even though the are the SAME as his old ones!) He's been going to school for weeks in jeans with holes...not matter how many I buy, I can't keep up!

Last night, my bro Ryan, aka The Computer Whisperer, graciously fixed all my computer troubles! He also informed me he's never read a blog. *Gasp* I told him if he really loved me he'd read mine...what are sisters for?!? In 6 weeks he will graduate college and be a "Electrical Systems Engineer" or, as I think it should be called....Computer Guru. Love you, Ryan...even though you'll never read this :)

And, with these little rays of sunshine on my feet, I am ready for a NEW Day! Um...for those of you who remember this, let me explain. I blame it on Wal-Mart really, them and their every day low prices...$7 ...what could I do?!? Shame on them ;)

Happy Friday!!

Another Installment...

Wow! It's Thursday already?!? So, it's another installment of the little bit I like to call,

Do you think the other pastors' wives that lived in this parsonage...
  • woke up some mornings and just wanted to crawl back into bed for a few more hours.
  • wondered if any 2 year old could possibly throw more crying fits than hers does by 8:30 am.
  • had "Fill My Cup, Lord" as their favorite hymn and life theme?
  • randomly prayed that their children got their husbands math & Science genes and not hers.
  • ate Catch-A-Man dip for every meal since lunch on Tuesday?
  • was disappointed to find that her house in fact does not clean itself...but does mess itself up...interesting.
  • had days where she was certain that her computer was just "messing" with her on purpose...testing her patience?
  • felt the same special anxiety when visiting the dentist and nursing homes?!? Both of which she gets to do next week :)
  • made daily "to-do" lists, and every day for 3 weeks kept moving "sort paperwork" to the next day?
  • had God keep taking her to 1&2 Peter, over and over everyday. Good stuff.
  • fell in love with women's ministries and fell to her knees in awe of all He's accomplishing!

Happy Thursday and Happy Birthday to my sweet little neighbor girl, Sydney!

The Pic Says it All...

Today....his $4 shirt from
Wal-Mart says it all.

Playing the Game

WOO HOO! I've finally been tagged!! I've been waiting, and waiting! Yep, I am that big of a dork! My first MEME :)

I've been tagged by Wendi

Here are the rules of the game...

1) link to your tagger and post these rules on your blog

2) Share 7 facts about yourself on your blog, some random, some weird

3) Tag 7 people at the end of your post by linking their names as well as links to their blog

4) let them know they are tagged by leaving a comment on their blog

Facts about me...

1 - I had a mullet hair cut from about 1-4th grade. It was bad...but I'm sure it was in style :)

2 - I can't wear those ear bud headphones, I must have freakishly small ear hole openings. Instead I get to look like a dork with the old-school kind.

3 - I do not really like fruit. I wish I did. I keep trying to make myself, but really, unless it's totally covered in chocolate, why bother? And really, why ruin chocolate with fruit? Deep thoughts.

4 - I'm not very sentimental. I love pictures, but other than that, not very attached to anything else.

5 - I can cook...but I do not enjoy it. I wish I did...maybe someday :)

6 - In Junior High I played the alto sax, and did not like band. I purposely failed so that my parents would let me quit. I also did the same thing with confirmation classes.

7 - My first baby, Noah, was 9lbs 13 oz. I still look at his baby pictures and wonder how he came out. Praise God for epidurals and that the rest were in the 8 pound range. Hmmm....was that too much information? HA! Oh well :)

Here's who I'm linking to, ladies, consider yourselves tagged!
Beth, Lindsay, Shalom Seeker, Shell, Stacey, Angela, Ann

*phew* that linking is a lot of work!

Eagerly Anticipating Today...

My 6 year old left me this message on our white board...apparently he's afraid I might forget his birthday...in May. He's already eagerly anticipating the big day. It caused me to think about what I am going to eagerly anticipate today...

  • Tonight is our Ladies Bible Study! It's our first real time of getting together since we've started this Seeking Him study. I can't wait to hear & see what God is doing in their hearts. I'm hoping I'm not the only one who's taken a beating this week :)
  • Also looking forward to the "Catch-A-Man" dip I made for the Bible study. (I made enough so I could eat some for lunch too :) It's a recipe I got from my friend Beth who is originally from the south. Apparently this is what they use to catch themselves a man ;) It's delicious, and even better, it's only 5 ingredients (perfect for me!)
  • Recipe: 16 slices cooked and crumbled bacon (I buy the pre-cooked stuff), 1 lb sharp cheddar cheese: shredded, 1 C sliced almonds, 4 green onions: chopped, and 2 C Hellmann's mayo. Mix together (chill) and serve with crackers or veggies. YUM!
  • I am anticipating my house cleaning itself, because I do not have time.
  • warmer weather...no coats...and Flip Flops, oh how I long to wear flip flops again!

When I am excited about something, I just can't shut-up about it. Can you tell?!? The Bible talks about how what's in a man's heart, will eventually come out of his mouth and actions. (I can't remember where it's at...you Theologian's, help me out!) Right now, God's teaching me so much, I can't stop talking about it. I realized today, that my last several posts are pretty much all the same..there's other stuff going on in there, I'll eventually get to it!

I Finally Get It!

I mentioned the other day, a word I don't particularly care for. W-a-i-t. I do not enjoy waiting...it's probably the reason why God places me in the check-out with the absolute slowest cashier imaginable. Every. Single. Time. I'm there in line thinking to myself,

"Where do they find these people? Can't they see/hear my wild children who have passed the breaking point?!? COME ON!" Yeah, I know...not pretty. But true.

There is hope for me though :) This is what I'm learning. I'm not a Theologian, but Biblically, I'm pretty sure that waiting and eagerly anticipating go hand in hand. In my head though...whole other story! In my head I associate "waiting" as a passive word. For years I have said things like, "I'm praying about such and such, and just waiting on the Lord's direction." Sounds fine, right? What I meant when I said that was not fine at all. What I meant was...I've done what I need to do, I'm just waiting for the Lord to catch up. *UGH* (I want to clarify that not everyone who says that phrase means it like that, but I did) Unimaginable that I would say that to God...up until recently I wouldn't have even realized that's what I was meaning...but through this process of personal revival, God is revealing to me ALL KINDS of things that are hard...and not pretty, but WOW! The freedom that comes from actually becoming aware of that sin, and dealing with it is...incredible.

I am now in the process of eagerly anticipating instead of waiting. What God is showing me, is that He views waiting differently than I do. God is never playing "catch-up" to me...He leads. And the waiting, that seemed so desperately boring, is the very thing that's the most important. I always viewed the end result, whatever I anticipated it to be, as the Big Deal...but the Big deal is actually all the steps of growing and maturing along the way... the waiting :)

I am not eloquent enough to think of words to describe how thankful I am for a Savior who never gives up on me, or tires of me, or loses patience with me. Where would I be without Him?!?

What On Earth?!?

Generally, I know what I'm going to blog about, before I even sit down. Granted, sometimes it ends up going in an entirely different direction...but still. Today though....nothing. Guess what nothing means! Randomness...in bullet form.

  • I learned how to scan pictures!!! Quite amazing, I know. I scanned the first pre-digital picture I could find...which happened to be from my senior prom. Crack. Me. UP! I was not much into the whole prom thing. This pic is our 4th prom together...I actually wore the same dress my Junior year, and then glued fake rhinestones on the back for my senior year....it was 1996, what can I say. If I could do prom now....I would have much more fun...I'd glam it up this time around :)
  • Now that I can run my scanner, there will definitely be future posts of some very unflattering pics of me while I was pregnant. I feel it's my duty to let my preggo friends know what "huge" really looks like :)
  • I figured out why my site meter timing was wrong. Apparently, it was my fault...imagine that. I've never been very good at military time, thus the problem.
  • I started the book Breaking Free by Beth Moore. I walked into the book store intending to get a different book, and walked out with this one. It's amazing. I may be the only person alive that has not read a single Beth Moore book. So now I am reading Breaking Free and doing the Seeking Him study...are you detecting a theme? God's planning something big, I can just feel it.
  • Back to bullet point #2 - wouldn't it be fun to start one of those MEME thingys and have everyone post pics of when they were super hugely preggo!?! If only I knew what a MEME really was, and how to do it....HA!
  • Seriously, this has to be my most random post yet...it's Monday, what can I say?!?
