Confession and Rant

It's Monday and I have a confession. I have a very, very serious case of laziness this summer. It's bad. I am completely unmotivated to accomplish much of anything that requires much effort. I have three to-do lists going.

1. To-Do this summer (before school starts on Aug. 17)
2. To-Do this week
3. To-Do today

Guess what keeps happening...nothing. So the lists just keep getting longer, and I move the to-do today, to the to-do this week list. Clever, aren't I?

...maybe I'll just cram everything into the last week before school starts...I do work well under pressure :)

Now for the rant. I try to not rant(whine) too much (on my blog)...but this is driving. me .nuts!

I happened to pick of a People magazine last night while at Wal-Mart. I wanted to read about Nicole Kidman's baby girl, whom she named Sunday, which I think is kinda cute...anyways, on the front page is also a pic with the headline: Pregnant Man Gives Birth to a Girl. Yeah. I've been stewing over this one since I saw the ads for it on Oprah. I cannot contain it any longer.

Here is my rant: He is not a man giving birth to a baby. He is still a woman, with all the equipment God gave in order to grow a baby. No big miracle on this guy (woman's) part. You can take male hormones and remove your breasts, but inside...still a GIRL. IT'S A GIRL HAVING A BABY. NO MEDICAL MARVEL. SHEEEESH!!

Hmmmm

For some reason, I can't seem to come up with anything other than randomness on Mondays! Why is that?!? It brings back the words to a song that I recall loving in Jr. High..."Things That Make Ya Go Hmmmm." HA! Please tell me I'm not the only dork out there who remembers this song :) ...after this post I will have to venture off to You Tube and find it...it's a tad-bit frightening...all you can find on there!

Sorry for the random bullet list...

• This weekend was fairly uneventful, but fun and relaxing...which I always enjoy!
• Yesterday I planted flowers and did some yard work. I have NO IDEA what I'm doing. We'll see if anything grows/stays alive. I planted some elephant's ears bulbs...by myself...I mean no supervision. Afterwards, my husband asked how deep and in what direction I had planted them...I explained how I dug a hole...yay deep, and then tossed in the bulbs, covered em up and watered. Done. He went into an explanation of how they should have been placed in the hole...while in my head I thought to myself how I would add "hire a Gardner" to my list of "Things I would hire done if I came into a ginormous sum of money"....which now makes me think that I should do a post on THAT! ...maybe tomorrow.
• God keeps taking me to Psalms 119...I LOVE it in the Living translation. Today I'm thinking on V7-8 "After you have corrected me, I will thank you by living as I should! I will obey! Oh don't forsake me and let me slip back into sin again."
• My house is a disaster....kind of like it barfed up its innards all over. Gross. But sadly...true. I'm off to start cleaning now...until lunch, and then, since it's finally nice out...I'm going to sit outside and try to give my pasty-white skin some color...but not in my swimsuit. So NOT in my swimsuit...just for the record :)

Big Important Decisions...

Hebrews 11:1 " What is faith? It is the confident assurance that something we want is going to happen. It is the certainty that what we hope for is waiting for us, even though we cannot see it up ahead."

It's a verse I've heard a bazillion times...but today, it was fresh. Gotta love that.

This week I get to go to the dentist (barf) and get my hair cut (YAY!)...I know...it is an exciting life I lead. Here is my dilemma. Do I get my hair cut the same OR is it time for a change. I'm thinking maybe (for summer) I should go a little shorter and just let it do it's thing..which is wild, uneven curls that drive me insane. Hmmmm....see the dilemma!?! Straightening iron = pain in the butt. White girl's afro also = pain in the butt. Help me.

I really should go get something done...there are four beds upstairs that desperately need their sheets washed...I won't tell you how desperately. And besides...I'm rambling.

What On Earth?!?

Generally, I know what I'm going to blog about, before I even sit down. Granted, sometimes it ends up going in an entirely different direction...but still. Today though....nothing. Guess what nothing means! Randomness...in bullet form.

• I learned how to scan pictures!!! Quite amazing, I know. I scanned the first pre-digital picture I could find...which happened to be from my senior prom. Crack. Me. UP! I was not much into the whole prom thing. This pic is our 4th prom together...I actually wore the same dress my Junior year, and then glued fake rhinestones on the back for my senior year....it was 1996, what can I say. If I could do prom now....I would have much more fun...I'd glam it up this time around :)
• Now that I can run my scanner, there will definitely be future posts of some very unflattering pics of me while I was pregnant. I feel it's my duty to let my preggo friends know what "huge" really looks like :)
• I figured out why my site meter timing was wrong. Apparently, it was my fault...imagine that. I've never been very good at military time, thus the problem.
• I started the book Breaking Free by Beth Moore. I walked into the book store intending to get a different book, and walked out with this one. It's amazing. I may be the only person alive that has not read a single Beth Moore book. So now I am reading Breaking Free and doing the Seeking Him study...are you detecting a theme? God's planning something big, I can just feel it.
• Back to bullet point #2 - wouldn't it be fun to start one of those MEME thingys and have everyone post pics of when they were super hugely preggo!?! If only I knew what a MEME really was, and how to do it....HA!
• Seriously, this has to be my most random post yet...it's Monday, what can I say?!?

Good Times

Yep...its a fun filled day here at my house. If any of you need me, this is where you'll find me! (Although, you really shouldn't find me today...it's not pretty, I'm not even showering, too much to do :) I call it the "mud room." It's our back entry room, its generally full of boots, shoes, coats, hats... well, you get the picture. It's also where the washer & dryer are...and so it is where I will be today too. Something happens at our house over the weekends....the laundry multiplies...how does this happen!?! (Heth, I CANNOT even imagine your laundry pile!) It's a mystery to me. I couldn't even come up with something interesting to blog about, because I'm so distracted by all the dirty clothes...gotta get to it. Happy Monday everyone...I hope yours involves actually showering and leaving your house!
