Eight Weeks to Go...

Eight weeks to go till baby #4 joins the craziness. I have the luxury of subtracting days from my actual due-date because I will be induced. It's the benefit of birthing a large baby the first time around. Last week when I discussed with my doctor about whether I'd like to be induced again or not, she laughed when I mentioned that the "inducing at 39 weeks" seemed to work well for me, then my baby's are "only" 8 pounds-something. Size is relative, I guess.

I have baby on the brain, to say the least. The lists have begun.

The swinging pendulum of Oh, I can't wait to meet this baby, 8 weeks is forever to OH MY WORD, ONLY EIGHT WEEKS TILL BABY MODE is a constant theme in my head.

I also swing back and forth between loving being pregnant and feeling the baby move around, to really wanting my body back, to be a runner again...to have a waist in order to keep my pants up again.

At this stage in the game, my silhouette turns me into a bit of a freak show. Strangers stare at it. I catch the eyes of people I'm having conversations with, and they can't help but let their eyes drift to the belly. I can't blame them...I do the same thing to others. There's something about it that screams, there's life in there, how weird!

After Jake, I got rid of most of the baby stuff because we were so done. Yeah. Friends have been generous in letting me borrow stuff this time, because the fourth time around, buying new gear loses the appeal that it had the first go-round.

I have gotten some new stuff, though :) Can't show you the clothes yet, of course...that will have to wait.
The bouncy seat is from my mom, it's so cute and I especially love it because I'm in an orange phase right now. I also got a new Moby wrap (in orange.) I have a cream colored one that I used with Jake and love love love it...but I think I need a spare ;) The newborn diapers are just so cute...they actually make buying diapers fun...they lose their appeal once they get bigger. And last, but not least, my favorite baby product of all time: Boudreaux's Buttpaste. Best stuff ever. I bought it in tub size.
And, last but not least. Baby #4 has a name. At least we think it does...
Tomorrow, lets talk about breastfeeding...as in, let's help Sarah with all our wisdom so that she no longer thinks its the worst experience ever. *smile*

  1. Loving all the baby stuff! Wish we knew the name. Also, love the Buttpaste. We still have some in our house for the kids for the occasional rash. It is the best!

  7. I would love to help you out with the breastfeeding stuff. I have learned a LOT between both my girls, and feel even more confident about it with our new baby, too! I am going to get a Moby wrap also - actually, a friend told me how you can make your own - but I want to buy one, too!
We find out on Friday if we're getting a boy or girl! :)

Love the orange, just please tell me Orange is NOT the name...Orange phase and all...seriously, you're not thinking about naming baby Orange?

  11. The whole not knowing boy or girl thing is driving me crazy :) I found myself looking at that baby bouncer and trying to decide the gender...orange can go either way, but can the heart, does that mean girl? I looked that picture over for a good minute searching for any clues. My conclusion...everything in that picture is totally neutral.

I'm on an orange kick now too...love it!

  12. Wow..your pregnancy has flown by for me LOL. I can't believe that you are almost due.

As far as the breast feeding is conerned, I just could not figure it out. I tried both times but my kids were like...UM, no. So formula for me and NO advice for you!!! ;)

Your word verification on this post is Pregn (weird)

  13. Only 8 weeks? Light at the end of the tunnel, huh? That's great! I had big babies too. My daughter was 9lbs. 8oz. She was a few days early and I can't imagine if she was late.

    Super cute baby seat!

  16. We're expecting #3 to arrive sometime in the next month or two. Like you, we had gotten rid of all of our baby stuff. I laughed when I saw your picture, because I got the same Moby Wrap (in orange!) for this time around :)

  17. Aww very sweet! Congratulations!
It's so awesome to be a mama!

I too had big fat babies. I was able to go in early and get induced with all 3. 8 1/2 - 9 1/2 lbs. was plenty for me!
    So...I understand your excitement.

Hope all goes well over the next few weeks. God is so good!

  19. ahh the joys of breastfeeding! It can be such a struggle. The thing you have to remember when you first start is that it only gets better and easier, I've done it 11 times and each time I think I'm not going to be able to handle it yet it all smooths out, also nurse on demand, don't do the rigid every 3 hours thing, your baby will feel comforted, secure and he/she will figure out their own feeding times. This is just an FYI from a mom whose don't the baby thing for 30 years! crazy huh?

  20. I won't be able to help with that. I thought the BFing was terrible. I made it five days and Mike said...forget this! I think it works great for some, and for me, not so great! Good luck if you choose to try! But don't feel bad if it doesn't work!
