If You Were Me

If you were me, you might...
  • have decided to take all three boys to Target last night in order to get them something "nice" to wear for Easter Sunday.
  • consider McDonald's Happy Meals a perfectly fine and nutritious supper.
  • order a McDonald's caramel latte, after all, you're not a picky coffee drinker.  You've been known to re-heat day old coffee in the microwave.
  • think the caramel latte from McDonald's is the WORST thing you've ever tasted in your entire life.
  • Bribe/threaten/warn said boys about their behavior at Target because you are not in the mood to mess around.  Mama means business.
  • be amazed that the bribing/threatening/warning thing was very effective on that particular day.
  • reward your boys with candy, because what completes a nutritious happy meal like candy?!?
  • reward yourself for your supreme patience and loving care while making children try on shoes...by buying yet another latte, only this time...Starbucks does not disappoint.
  • set your expensive latte on the seat of your van because all the cup holders are full of old cups, and then get everyone situated only to find that most of your expensive, yummy, delicious latte is now in a puddle on your van seat...with your cell phone sitting in it.
  • smile, gritting your teeth while a 7,6, and 3 year old scold you about what a bad idea it was to put your drink on your seat.
  • dry your phone off as fast as you can PRAYING it still works.  Realize it does, except for the #1 and #3 buttons, which you actually need to use quite often, who knew?!?
  • be relieved to wake up this morning to find that your phone, although sticky, has dried out and is now fully functional.  Phew.
  • be brewing your 2nd pot of coffee this morning.

  3. I couldn't agree more about the McDonald's lattes. ICK!!!! I've tried 2 different kinds in the last month...and chucked them both in the garbage.

  4. I agree with Sara; the cute hair is a bonus on the whole deal.

And frankly, the idea of a second pot of coffee is rather appealing this morning.

  5. What is more terrifying than a drowning cell phone? Aside from actual living beings, nothing I can think of! Beth, great idea on sticking the phone in rice... brilliant!

  6. This literally made me laugh out loud. My sides are hurting.

#1. Happy Meals ARE a nutritious lunch/dinner and don't let anyone tell you otherwise. :)

#2. Bummer about the caramel latte.

#3. I'm so glad to know I'm not the only one whose cupholders (and my floorboards too) are filled with old, half empty cups. :)

  10. AHHHH - familiarity!!!! (I don't know if I spelled that right)
such is the life of a mom....And for the record - my kids had mcD's for supper last night, too....because there wasn't enough time to get from dance --home to eat supper-- and back to church for meeting.....

  14. I have heard that mcdonalds coffees are bad...I definitely will not be trying one!!!

My cupholders are full too...drives my husband crazy!

I think I would have added that I went to bed as soon as I got home! :)

  15. Dang it... if a coffee had to be dumped on the seat of the car it should have been the McD's one! Did you reward yourself with another Starbucks for not completely losing it in the Target parking lot? I would have :)

  16. As much as I adore Starbucks, I have to say I love just plain ol' McDonald's coffee just as much and for $1 why not? I don't care for McDonald's lattes either. Starbucks all the way for me. Did you get the Easter outfits?

  18. I agree with H-Mama...sounds like just a typical day in the life of a mama!! Those kinda of days build character...ha ha, don't you just love it when someone gives you that line!

  19. My question is...when your Starbucks spilled did you swear in your head? Oh wait, you aren't going to admit to that on your blog. :)

    A couple points:

    1. Your hair always looks amazing, even when you claim to have "bed head". Nice try.

    2. Mc Donalds lattes are crap, you are totally right.

    3. I just bought my whole family Easter clothes at Target today in literally ten minutes. I bet we have some of the same things. Did you go polos or button ups?

    That is all.

  20. I'm kind of impressed that you can drink coffee at all hours. Me? If I have any past noon, I'm up all night. Yes, you can call me Grandma :)

  21. whew! Bless your little PW heart! :)

  22. Spouse dropped his cell phone in a river and lost the use of a couple of buttons, but it actually dried out okay too! Of course, it helped that the battery cover was being held on by Scotch tape, and that he grabbed it immediately.

    Sorry about your lovely latte.

  23. Did you also think while you were shopping that you never wanted to go with all three by yourself, like alone, again?!!!

I did this a couple of weeks ago, only not the phone!!

Bag of rice on the heat register! Amazing results, even if you wash in the washing machine!!!

  24. So funny, and I am SO glad that your cell phone works now (and that you are working on a second pot of coffee -- no quitters!). Lol!!

My BFF and I just went to Target last night to find her a dress for a wedding (which was accomplished). Target turned out to be better than Old Navy, Dillards and Kohls. =)
