They say a little dirt is good for ya! Seriously, research is showing that people with allergies may have grown up in too clean an environment. This would certainly be true for me because my mom did the equivalent of others' spring cleaning on a weekly basis! Anyway, don't ya just love little boys?!
I love it! They look like my little man. I'm glad to see that you let your kids play without freaking out if they get dirty! The dirt is probably good for them like 2nd Cup said. My mom told me that when my grandma would make fresh doughnuts, she and her siblings would go out to my grandpa's blacksmith shop and dip the doughnuts in the blackest and finest dirt you've ever seen. Can you believe that? Maybe they all had pica? Anyway, the pictures are great! Happy Wednesday to you and your boys. :)
Wow! Noah looks so grown up! I see a lot of his father in him. I love it! Sister in law Megan ;) PS I read your blog every day at school during my free time. It's a good short break for me from the stresses of teenagers. :)
One my dearest friends - who is our Pastor's wife - always says, "God made dirt so dirt don't hurt".
Last baseball season some of the moms brought their summer sand toys to the practices so that the younger kids could play in the dirt while their older brother/sister was practicing. I thought they were pretty darn smart.
i think that last one is a winner for a "wordless wednesday" contest! i laughed out loud and scared myself. soooo hilarious! btw, i'm thinkin' this is a true sign of a relaxed and FUN mommy!
p.s. thanks for commenting on my hubster's spot. he had to turn his comments off, but got yours and smiled BIG! thanks!
And thanks for the tip on the ceiling fans. Now that I've actually cleaned the dust off maybe I can start from scratch with the fans running. Hurricane force winds would not have budged the previous layer of dust! :)
I'm learning to be more relaxed about dirt. I figure as the mom of three boys I can either choose to relax or end up with an ulcer and heart attack..hmmmm.... :) I could learn a thing or two from you. :) Love the pictures!
during spring baseball season i'd dress my little boys in play clothes and rainboots, then they'd splash in puddles and get super messy while i SAT and watched my oldest play ball.
aww who is the smart mommy that dresses her kids in brown sweatshirts the SAME color as dirt-i would say that is some super planning ahead---smart momma!
And, no. I'm not really jealous that you have like twenty-something comments. Why would you think that? This may be a common thing for you. I don't know. I haven't stalked you that closely. :) I just noticed today. But I'm not jealous.
I loved the photos of your boys playing in the dirt! Samuel & Benjamin will find whatever dirt they can at any outdoor activity we attend. And like you, I'm happy, because I can actually enjoy what I came for!!
Thanks for commenting, you make blogging fun. :) If your comment doesn't appear right away, it's because it's awaiting moderation, but it will show up soon!
Wife to Ben, who also happens to be the Pastor of a sweet little church in a tiny little town. Mama to three boys and little Lucy. We live in the parsonage, 27 steps from said little church. This is the journey...it involves lots of run-on sentences.

The good thing about dirt: it washes. So do little boys.
ReplyDeleteNothing like a little protein added to the diet. Just like they say...a little dirt don't hurt, right?

Isn't it just amazing how AMUSING dirt can be? I mean, it's just dirt!
ReplyDeleteI {heart} boys ... therefore... I {heart} dirt! :)
ReplyDeleteLooks like fun!!
ReplyDeleteI hear that those that live on a farm have less food allergies. Maybe it's because of the dirt?
ReplyDeleteI'm learning to be more relaxed about dirt. I figure as the mom of three boys I can either choose to relax or end up with an ulcer and heart attack..hmmmm.... :)

Gotta love little boys!

Me too me too!! Carry on, mom is watching your big brother!!! Have fun!
ReplyDeleteMy granddaddy always said a little dirt never hurt anybody. And I don't think boys should look any other way.
ReplyDeleteYour boys look as adorable as you! I'm glad to see boys being...well, boys!
ReplyDeleteBut...hoodies and long sleeves? Already??? I'll trade weather with ya. We're currently under mandatory evacuation orders from Hurricane Ike.
I'm getting my blog-reading fix in while I can!
