Sorry for the random bullet list...
- This weekend was fairly uneventful, but fun and relaxing...which I always enjoy!
- Yesterday I planted flowers and did some yard work. I have NO IDEA what I'm doing. We'll see if anything grows/stays alive. I planted some elephant's ears bulbs...by myself...I mean no supervision. Afterwards, my husband asked how deep and in what direction I had planted them...I explained how I dug a hole...yay deep, and then tossed in the bulbs, covered em up and watered. Done. He went into an explanation of how they should have been placed in the hole...while in my head I thought to myself how I would add "hire a Gardner" to my list of "Things I would hire done if I came into a ginormous sum of money"....which now makes me think that I should do a post on THAT! ...maybe tomorrow.
- God keeps taking me to Psalms 119...I LOVE it in the Living translation. Today I'm thinking on V7-8 "After you have corrected me, I will thank you by living as I should! I will obey! Oh don't forsake me and let me slip back into sin again."
- My house is a disaster....kind of like it barfed up its innards all over. Gross. But sadly...true. I'm off to start cleaning now...until lunch, and then, since it's finally nice out...I'm going to sit outside and try to give my pasty-white skin some color...but not in my swimsuit. So NOT in my swimsuit...just for the record :)
Happy Monday, friends!
On the bulbs: But if you hadn't tried, you wouldn't have learned what to do next time. (Not that I know, nor do I do things involving dirt and the outdoors... But you know what I'm saying.)
ReplyDeleteOn the verse: I like in in that version too!
On the house: Nastiness! Ick! But great writing, as I had an instant picture in my head of what you were describing. Though now I think I'll just move on from there...
Enjoy your sunshine. I'm going to sit at this computer all day. But don't worry. They pay me for it. :-)

I totally remember that song :)
ReplyDeleteI like that post idea..."things I would hire done if I came into a ginormous sum of money"
ReplyDeleteI too, would sooo pay to have someone landscape and plant AND WATER for me!
made your kabobs (Jedd doesn't understand why we call them kabobs of they are actually shish kabobs) yesterday...Ed and Diane came for lunch and loved them. But the grilling seemed to really cancel out the marinade flavor...but they were tasty! We have a fridge full of leftovers! yumm!
Heehee! I remember that song. It still comes on every once in a while on the oldies station here (Isn't that sad ~ oldies station playing tunes from my youth)
ReplyDeleteMichelle
Uneventful weekends are always nice and relaxing! Seems like my house is always in need of extra attention on Mondays...the house work sure can pile up fast.
ReplyDeleteIt's such a treat to have uneventful sometimes, isn't it?
ReplyDeleteLove the verse too- it's one that bears remembering for My First Place efforts.
I can't imagine you not being able to wear a swimsuit- you look like a cute little thing!!
Be blessed!
Lorie
I have been "lurking" over your site for the past couple of weeks. (That's a word Bayou Belle used a coupla posts ago...and I found you on her blogroll btw).
ReplyDeleteSo today, I decided, was the day I would introduce myself!! HAHA.
I enjoy stopping by your site. You see, my family has been called into Full-Time Ministry and will begin this journey any day now. Our first stop, Fort Worth, Texas...where we will live for the next 3-4 years (or more if the Lord so desires) for my hubby to obtain his M-Div degree.
So, just lettin' you know you have been somewhat of an inspiration to me on those days when I just feel like I am SO.NOT.WORTHY.OF.THIS.CALL!!!
So.... are you ready for the race?
ReplyDeleteNothing really exciting going on around here. I guess it's...
Just another Manic Monday... Ha!
You started it! Love ya!
Lorie: You're too kind...I do sport a swimsuit (I'm a BIG fan of the skirted tankini) but I save it for the pool :) I don't want to give the people of my tiny town a heart attack as they see the pastor's wife laying out in the parsonage lawn! HA! Would make for some interesting news I suppose...
ReplyDeleteToo funny and I instantly starting humming the song, however, you make me feel old, I was a jr in high school when that song came out.
ReplyDeleteThings that make you go hmmm. I use that as a label for some of my posts - Ha! Monday randomness is great... after all it's Monday! Smiles!
ReplyDeleteThat Scripture you wrote reminded me of a song I've been having in my head lately. I'm not even really sure of the name of the song, but the chorus says, "If I say I love You, I will do what You say, I will obey You." It's a worship song by Billy and Cindy Foote. If you go to there website, you can listen to the full song. Go there and her songs will bless you. She also redid the Philips, Craig, and Dean song, "You are God Alone," which is my new favorite worship song right now. Let me know what you think. Sorry don't know the exact name of their website, just type in Billy or Cindy Foote.
ReplyDeleteneeded a little encouragement today! thanks.
ReplyDeleteOh, forgot to say ... I really think you should put on one of those "Christian" tankinis. That's acceptable, remember?
ReplyDeleteHey Sarah...
ReplyDeleteTake pictures of your bulbs for the Garden Tour I'm hosting in June! ;))))
